Charter School Operators
Charter school operators are faced with many issues and challenges when it comes to finance and governance. Entrusted with implementing their educational vision for the school, they are also called upon to effectively manage the business and organizational operations of the enterprise.
In developing and operating a successful charter school, operators must be able to effectively prepare short and long term strategic plans and budget projections, generate and manage adequate income for operations, facilities, transportation, special education and other educational initiatives, and provide financial reports and audits in a timely fashion. In addition, creating and sustaining an effective governance structure with committed and professionally skilled board members, involved parents and teachers, and a strong network of public and private partners is essential to operating a successful charter school.
Charter school operators are one of the three key audiences of the National Resource Center for Charter School Finance and Governance. This page is designed to highlight new resources on charter school finance and governance specifically of interest to charter school operators, and to quickly link you to other resources on this Web site of special interest to charter school operators.
